Engraving cannot do photographs. When the tag has to carry a face, a full-color logo or a gradient, the answer is UV printing onto white-coated aluminum — ink cured hard onto the surface under ultraviolet light, edge to edge, at photographic resolution.

The trade-off is honest and worth stating: a printed tag is a bright, detailed object that will scuff before an embossed steel one will. For a memorial keepsake, a fan tag, a fundraiser or a merchandise run this is the right choice; for something worn daily on a working collar for years, embossed steel is not.
